Six Stabbed in Downtown Raleigh Fight; Suspect Charged

A large section of downtown Raleigh was placed under heavy police presence early Saturday morning after a violent altercation left six people injured.

Authorities sealed off the entire 200 block of Fayetteville Street as officers with the Raleigh Police Department, along with EMS and fire crews, responded to reports of multiple victims being assaulted shortly after midnight.

Police say the incident began around 12:18 a.m. when officers were dispatched to a reported fight in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered several individuals suffering from stab wounds.

Investigators later confirmed that six people—both men and women—were stabbed during the altercation. All victims were transported to a nearby hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

A suspect, identified as Frank Lalich, 35, has been arrested and charged with four counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to seriously injure. Authorities say Lalich was also injured during the incident and remains hospitalized while in custody.

According to police, the violence stemmed from a confrontation between Lalich and a group of individuals, which escalated into the stabbing.

Raleigh Police Chief Rico Boyce addressed the situation in a statement, acknowledging the traumatic nature of the घटना for those who witnessed it.

“Last night, many members of our community witnessed a traumatic event on Fayetteville Street. We recognize the impact incidents like this can have and extend our concern to all those affected,” Boyce said. “I want to commend our officers for their swift response and the aid they provided at the scene.   1. Raleigh is really sucking with all the violence and crime. Wake County DA sucks too because they constantly let out repeat offenders like the fake cop who is sexually assaulting women. He’s been arrested over 20 times for years and yet he is still in the streets. He will have to murder someone before yes actually put away. This city sucks and it’s getting worse.
